the dogs

These are our 2 dogs Charlie the yellow lab puppy and sugar bear the shar pei, frolicking on the purple deck of our new house. Sugar Bear (remember sugar crisp cereal and the bear with the little ears) is like me an Alpha Female, or as my dog breeder friend said a controlling bitch. Great dog keeps the puppy in line/

New Name

Going in a new direction....Not sure where but it's all about the journey.
The title of the blog came to me as I was driving home from work this afternoon listening to my ipod. It is in the first line of Jackson Browne's song "The Rebel Jesus"
Some of this older music is prophetic.

I have no idea how to add links to this blog any one out there who can help

WOW

Here it is 2 months after my last post. I had decided not to blog after all, too much anger oozing from my fingers to the keyboard and out on the computer screen. Then yesterday I saw my blog as a link on another one, gee someone actually read this.

Much has changed in 2 months, some small things others huge. Primarily, I have learned how to have fun again. I have recaptured my joy or it has captured me. It is hard to believe that for almost 10 years I had no joy. Sure, I would laugh and act like I was supposed to. Many times God would provide moments of laughter that would be cathartic for a while but then the old crap kept coming back. The kind of joy that has captured me is that spontaneous love for life, that ability to enjoy the moment for what it is, not worrying about what others think or say about my behavior or beliefs.

My family gave me an ipod for my birthday, I have downloaded everything from the late 60's to now. Songs that have spoken to me during different stages of my life. Songs that are (gasp) secular. Songs like Creams "Born Under a Bad Sign" Dylan's "With God on our Side" Joan Baez singing "Susanne" and from the 90s Joan Osborn singing "What if God were one of us? Just a slob like one of us, just a stranger on the bus trying to find his way home.......
